Writer slips up and reveals the premise of the upcoming RE Requiem DLC

A story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem was announced just a few months after the base game’s release. It has been confirmed that the expansion will likely arrive after the Veronica remake, which is expected in late 2027. While Capcom has been fairly secretive about the DLC, it seems one of the game’s writers has now revealed an important story detail.

Haris Orkin – a freelance video game writer, narrative designer, screenwriter and novelist – talked about his contribution to Requiem in an interview at MEADOWLARK COMIC CON. Besides Requiem, Orkin has worked on numerous AAA titles, including Resident Evil: Shadows of Rose, the DLC for Resident Evil Village.

Throughout the entire Resident Evil series, Oswell Spencer was portrayed as the embodiment of evil and an egocentric monster – right up until Requiem. Like it or not, Spencer now repents and wants to atone for all the lives he thoughtlessly destroyed. It will be interesting to see how Capcom justifies this abrupt transition, since in our opinion the twist at the end of the base story really wasn’t convincing.
